Bridgeport Police Officer Wounds One Person In Shooting Incident

Connecticut state police say a Bridgeport police officer has shot and wounded a person while working with a federal and local law enforcement task force. Troopers say the person was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released after being shot shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday near Main and Catherine streets. Other details of the shooting have not been released, including whether the person faces criminal charges. The officer was working with the FBI's Safe Streets task force, which includes federal, state and local law enforcement authorities.

The Stamford state's attorney is overseeing a state police investigation of the shooting.
